‘Fixing’ climate damage

Just read this article, about notions of engineering a climate ‘fix’ by pumping chemicals into the stratosphere:

Warning over aerosol climate fix

Here’s a thought: why don’t we (as in all of us) accept that the past couple hundred years of pumping chemicals and toxins into the atmosphere and waters, raping the land for trees and minerals; hope and pray that we haven’t set ourselves and our environment on a course we will eventually not survive; then, as Martin Luther once wrote, observe that doing so no more is the truest repentance, and not go solving our problems by repeating the same mistakes that caused them? Just a thought ….
